





A meeting to discuss the distribution and sale of fertilizers needed for agricultural activities at affordable prices, and to ensure timely availability for the monsoon paddy planting season of the 2026-2027 fiscal year, was held on April 27 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thien, Deputy Ministers, and officials from agricultural input companies. First, Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thien urged that, in accordance with the President's directives for national development, increasing the production of agricultural and livestock products, the primary livelihood of rural people will raise household incomes and improve socio-economic living standards.
He called for collective cooperation to achieve target yields for each crop, emphasized that reference prices are released monthly to prevent hoarding and market manipulation, and stressed the need to ensure that inputs meet quality standards, are available on time, and are offered at reasonable and affordable prices.
He urged all responsible parties to work together to oversee and enforce these measures. Subsequently, the chairman of the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seed, and Pesticide Entrepreneurs Association explained the current situation regarding the purchase, import, distribution, and sale of agricultural inputs.
After that, Deputy Ministers and responsible officials discussed matters pertaining to their respective sectors, and the Union Minister provided additional necessary directives. Following this, the Union Minister and the Mandalay Region Chief Minister met with summer paddy farmers from eight villages in Kyaukse Township at the Kyaukse Township Hall. They discussed necessary matters and provided input fertilizers to the summer paddy farmers, it’s reported.
