Discussion in Dawei: Socio-economic development of ethnic nationals

On 31st July, a discussion on socio economic development of ethnic nationals was held at the Director office of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs in Dawei.

Speaking on the occasion, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko underscored the purpose of the discussion which is to fulfill necessities of the ethnic people residing within the region in all aspects. To preserve ethnic dialects, arts, culture, tradition and heritage and to enhance socio economic status of the ethnic nationals, the Ethnic Center is being constructed. 

Moreover, ethnic language teachers are urged to make collaborative efforts in choosing and assigning new teaching assistants and language teachers.

Likewise, ethnic literature and culture associations and representatives are encouraged to actively engage in safeguarding regional peace and stability as well as education, health, economic and transportation sectors development within the region. Then, the Chief Minister and party enjoyed stage performances of the ethnic dance troupes. It was followed by sector wise discussios of the attendees.
