Discuss the upgrading of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area

High-level representatives from China, the 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat gathered in China on 31st January to discuss the upgrading of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area, or ACFTA.

The attendees began the fifth round of the ACFTA 3.0 upgrade negotiations, which was launched in 2022. Chinese Vice Commerce Minister called on all the relevant parties to make full efforts to conclude the negotiations by the end of this year, so as to translate opportunities into concrete outcomes and benefit businesses and people in the region at an early date. The meeting is scheduled to close on Friday.
