Disaster Response: Earthquake preparedness and drill in Taunggyi

Shan State held the state-level earthquake preparedness and emergency response table talk simulation and exercise.
During this disaster response event at the Taunggyi University, State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun highlighted the recent 45 moderate and slight earthquakes that hit Shan State in July.
There is a difference in destructive power depending on the magnitude of the earthquake, density of population, the number of high-rise buildings, preparation and the people's knowledge about earthquakes.
Earthquake preparedness and response drills can reduce the risk of life and property loss, the Chief Minister added. The event continued with explanation on the state-level earthquake preparedness and emergency response table talk simulation and exercise.
And, Shan State disaster management group and 10 working groups discussed standard operating procedure, search and rescue and aid provision. Also, the earthquake emergency response simulation and exercise took place at the Mong Tauk building of the University.
It’s reported that on the 24th of March in 2011, a 7-magnitude earthquake hit Tarlay of Tachileik Township, leaving 76 people dead and 100 injured.
