





The Embassy of Russia is holding a reception on the occasion of the Diplomats’ Day in Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon on Tuesday, 10th of February.
Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Iskander Azizov said " As for the day of Diplomats, we can trace its root, its origin, back to the 60th century to the year of 1549, there was a first record in the archive of that period of the establishment of the ambassadorial office or ambassadorial department. That was the first foreign policy, state institution in Russia. At the time in the year of 2002, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented some consideration for the President Mr. Putin to review in which he outlines the ideas of the need to establish Diplomatic or Diplomats’ Day. In Russia, it is the day of diplomatic workers."
The grand celebration of the Russian Diplomats’ Day started in 2004 at the Russian Embassies around the world, aimed to pass down to the young generations and strengthen diplomatic service.
Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Iskander Azizov said " We are very much hopeful the Russian Diplomacy will further contribute to the strengthening of Peace, to the rise of the global south, global east, to have for them much more resounding hoist in the corridors of world politics."
Myanmar and Russia will be celebrating the 78th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations. Through Government to Government and People to People cooperation, bilateral diplomatic relations will be further strengthened more and more.
