Diploma awarding ceremony: Kachin State CM attended Diploma awarding ceremony

The 8th diploma awarding ceremony for nurses and midwives for the 2025 academic year was held at the Myitkyina Nursing Training School (3rd-floor classrooms) on December 31st.

The Chief Minister of Kachin State, U Khet Htein Nan, attended the ceremony and gave a speech.

In his speech, the Chief Minister encouraged the young graduates receiving their diplomas to apply the skills they have learned in practical and effective ways. He also urged them to adhere to the ethical standards expected of nurses and midwives as they carry out their duties in the future. Following this, the principal of the nursing training school, Daw Zami Hta Kaung Sar, provided clarification about the diploma awarding process.

The Chief Minister then presented a donation of 10 million kyats to the nursing school. In response, one of the graduates expressed their gratitude on behalf of the other students.

After that, the Chief Minister and wife, along with State level officials and their spouses, attended a Christmas and New Year's celebration organized by the Myitkyina Township Development Committee Market (1), Market (2) and Yay Sin Kwin Market where market shoppers participated in a festive prayer and celebration and presented 0.5 million Kyats to Myitkyina School for the Blinds, and the market shoppers provided Christmas gifts, food, oil, and household items to the 50 sanitation and night security workers.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister and wife, along with government officials, attended the Christmas and New Year's celebration at the Myitkyina Prison, offering their support.

During the event, Christian leaders, along with YCC prison chaplains and supporters, prayed and performed religious songs. The head officer of the State Prison Department, U Kyaw Soe, also delivered a welcoming speech.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate Christmas and the New Year together. He encouraged everyone to carry the strength gained from 2024 into the new year of 2025 with renewed spirit and energy.

At the event, the Chief Minister presented 5 million kyats in donation, more than 10 million kyats in donations donated by state ministers and donors. The chaplains prayed for blessings, and the prisoners were entertained by performances from renowned singers and local musicians, who performed songs and dances for the prisoners.
