








A ceremony to honour the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day 2023 was held at the Grand Military Parade Ground in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday with an address by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.
The ceremony was attended SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe,
Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers, concerned officials, representatives from ethnic armed organizations, political parties, ethnic people, artists, NGOs and invited guests.The Senior General arrived at parade ground and took his position at the review stand and took the salute of parade columns from the dais. Simultaneously, the Guard of honour accorded a 21-gun salute and 750 peace doves were released in honour of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day.
The Senior General then saluted the State flag together with the parade columns and attendees and saluted the nation's martyrs and soldiers, who gave their lives for the country. They observed 2 minute silence in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives for gaining the country independence and perpetual existence of Independence and took the oath of 75th Anniversary Independence Day.
The Senior General later inspected parade columns, parade floats and mechanized infantry companies of Tatmadaw and Home Affairs in a motorcade. Afterwards, the Senior General addressed the ceremony in honour of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, saying that Myanmar regained its independence and sovereignty on 4 January 1948.
The cost of achieving Independence through sacrifices of the lives, blood and sweat of the ethnic nationals was indeed high. The struggle for independence has fostered a strong sense of patriotism, nationalism and unity amongst all our national races. The history of the struggle for independence has proven that they are crowned with victory when all national races were unified.
The Senior General urge all our national races to uphold the fine tradition of unity in order to build a genuine, disciplined multiparty democracy as well as a Union based on democracy and the federalism through patience, understanding and brotherly spirit. In his conclusion, he urged the entire people to make collective efforts in implementing the national objectives of the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day: to ensure cementing the discipline-flourishing genuine multiparty democratic system and build the Union based on democracy and federalism, to utmost strive for ensuring the prosperity of the nation and food sufficiency as national tasks; to build a better State and socioeconomic life in accord with the theme "Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal" focusing on the interests of the State and ethnic national peoples; to initiate national solidarity and peace of the Union with a firm to successfully hold free and fair multiparty democratic general elections and emerge electoral system in which all ethnic nationals would participate proportionately.
In the ceremony, 15 PT-6 aircrafts including the MTX-1A manufactured in a trail by the Tatmadaw (Air) and Tatmadaw aircrafts saluted the senior general by flying in a form of a set of 75 English letter. The state flag troop, the Tatmadaw (Army) flag troop, the parade companies representing the Ministries and Myanmar Police Force flag team saluted the Senior General.
The students from the basic education schools in Nay Pyi Taw council area also performed alphabet presentation and image performance. The parachute team also landed from the air and marched to the ground by carrying flags representing Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), respective regions and states and ministries. While saluting, the Senior General and wife and dignitaries cordially greeted the parade floats, demonstration teams and dance troupes by waving hands. After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife cordially greeted those present and left from the parade ground.
