






Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe, accompanied by concerned officials visited the Small Scale Industries Department in Mawlamyine Township of Mon State on Friday.
During the visit, they met with the trainees of rural income enhancement training course from Chaung Sone, Mawlamyine, Kyaikmayaw, Mudon, Thaton and Paung townships. He announced 15 training courses to be held this fiscal year in Mawlamyine and Thaton districts and urged the trainers to ensure the programs lead to income improvements for participants.
Upon arrival at Yoego Village, they attended a ceremony to present the rice transplanters and high-yield paddy strains to cooperative society member farmers and heard reports on ongoing cooperative agricultural activities within the state.
The Deputy Minister instructed officials to ensure proper distribution of high-yield strains and inputs to meet this year’s paddy yield targets and to coordinate with the relevant ministries on agricultural technologies. He then presented rice transplanters and strains to the farmers and observed paddy cultivation using the equipment.
The Deputy Minister then inspected the completed 4,495-foot Yoego manufacturing road and gave necessary instructions. He also provided Ks 300 million under the 2025–2026 Emerald Green Village Project and urged effective use of loans for farming and livestock activities.
Next, the Deputy Minister and concerned officials visited the Weaving and Vocational Training School in Mudon Township and met with trainees, principals and instructors of the handloom and textile training courses and urged efforts to enhance weaving and natural yarn dyeing skills rooted in traditional culture. They then observed the weaving scarves and cotton and making handbags with natural dyes by the trainees.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister inspected the completed staff housing and reviewed staff accommodation. At the Rural Road Development Department office in Mawlamyine, the Deputy Minister met with the staff from four departments under the ministry and urged timely completion of 2025–26 projects while setting goals to enhance staff performance and quality.
The Deputy Minister later visited the Mon State Government Office and met with Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein. During the meeting, they discussed efforts to meet monsoon paddy yield targets, develop small-scale industries and boost rural incomes and heard necessary guidance of the Chief Minister.
