Development Works: Efforts for socio-economic progress of ethnic nationalities

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, together with the Deputy Minister and officials, on 2nd September, visited Hopone in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone.

They held a discussion with the Chairman of the Administration Council for development of transportation and tourism sector in the villages along MaeNe mountain ranges.

They later made field inspection to the mountain ranges, and coordinated the plans for implementing the prioritized sectors for socio-economic development of the local ethnic people.

The Union Minister and party later observed the 110 years old ancient NamHoat   Monastery in Kyaukkachar Village, and paid homage to the Sayadaw.

On the 3rd, the Union Minister and party inspected asphalt paving of road in SiSai Township. They also visited Women Vocational Training School in SaikKhaung, and inspected the conducting of training, displays of utensils, hostel, mess hall and construction works.

They later proceeded to Training School for development of nationalities youth from border areas, and met with the principal, staff, instructors and students. The Union Minister gave instructions and provided school uniforms, exercise books, stationery and sports gears.

They also inspected the hostel, library and cultivation of perennial crops and seasonal crops. They then inspected the asphalt paving of road in SiSai, and discussed for regional development works.

On arrival at HoNamt Village in MaukMae Township, the Union Minister met with the officials from Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), and discussed for development works in western part of MaukMae. They later arrived at MaukMae Township Development Office and provided cash assistance.

On the 4th, the Union Minister and party inspected construction of new monastery in NamtTon Village, the chosen site for water pumping project for agriculture purpose by solar power and hydro power and construction of NamtTein Bridge crossing bridge.

They then arrived at LinKhae District Development Office and provided cash assistance for the staff.
