Development of Agriculture: MoCRD UM met wtih agriculture farmers

The Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe acccompanied by deputy minister U Myint Soe, permanent secretary, directors general and officials took a ground inspection for the success of summer paddy and cotton plantation implemented with the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory in the afternoon on 12th March.

First, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister and party met with the executives of Sharr Taw Agriculture and General Cooperatives Association, member farmers and villagers at the multi-function hall of Sharr Taw village, Tatkone Township where the head of Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw Cooperatives Limited calrified on summer paddy plantation, cotton and other winter crops plantations with the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund of Sharr Taw Agriculture and General Cooperatives Association and the director from the Nay Pyi Taw Council Department of Agriculture on the implementations in terms of agriculture sector.

Upon the clarification, the Union Minister said that it is important for the cotton planters to strive for the increase yield of cotton crops, gaining good quality seeds and good market demand. Also, using the necessary inputs in the plantations are crucial and the needs of cotton planters will be supplemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, so also farmers are needed to report on their needs so that the necessary assistances are going to be made quickly by making ground inspections.

And he called for open report of the farmers including the difficulties and challenges they encountered. Continuously, the Union Minister said that 6,400 acres are set for the summer paddy plantations in 8 Townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and from there, for over 3200 acres from 5 Townships such as Pyinmana, Lewe, Zabuthiri, Dakkhinathiri including Tatkone Township, the agricultural inputs equivalent to 200,000 kyats for one acre from the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund will be provided.

The remaining acres will be planted with the scheme of the member farmers. The agriculture farmers are also needed to make the good quality soil and seeds, enough of agriculture water and right planting techniques for gaining the targeted yields. After coordinating the needs upon the reports of cotton planters and member farmers, the Union Minister inspection on the conditions of summer paddy plantations, cotton plantations, tomatoes and onion plantations with the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund.
