Detention of Additional Seven UN Personnel in Yemen

The United Nations has suspended official movements in areas controlled by the authorities in Yemen after the detention of additional seven UN Personnel, according to a spokesperson.

The UN described the measure as a precautionary step, adding that “the measure will remain in place until further notice.” UN officials are pressing for the “immediate and unconditional release of all UN personnel and partners,” Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General added. Senior representatives of the authorities are being engaged to resolve the matter.
