Destinations in Nay Pyi Taw: Over 1.1 million local & foreign visitors visited

There are 17 pagodas and temples and 21 gardens and parks, museums and recreation places, totaling 38 destinations to visit in Nay Pyi Taw.

Most of the foreign visitors are from China, followed by from Russia.Visitors from Japan, Korea and India also visited Nay Pyi Taw, according to the official of Nay Pyi Taw Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

Director, Dr. Than Zaw, Directorate of Hotels & Tourism (Nay Pyi Taw), said " There are 38 destinations including Maravijara Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw. A total of over 1.1 million local and foreign visitors visited from January to the end of August 2023.Starting the dates from 8th August to 4th September 2023 when the visitors were allowed to pay obeisance to Maravijira Buddha Image, 639,974 visitors made pilgrimage. It has learnt that 43,636 foreign visitors visited Na Nay Pyi Taw. Chinese visitors are the most, followed by Russian tourists. Visitors from 91 countries paid a visit to Nay Pyi Taw. "

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is making efforts to visit more domestic visitors to Nay Pyi Taw from all corners. The departments related to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Associations and entrepreneurs are urged to cooperate in the development of tourism industry. 

The tourism industry can create job opportunities for the people as the tourism industry is the direct and indirect services and it can generate income from individual to the state level. That’s why, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and relevant ministries are maintaining basic infrastructures and tradition and customsfor sustainable development of tourism destinations.
