




In collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Sarawak and the Sarawak Tourism Board, and led by the Pacific-Asia Tourism Association (PATA), Virtual PATA Destination Marketing Forum-2021 is being held from 25 to 26 November (PATA) in Kuching, Sarawak Province, Malaysia.
At the invitation of the PATA, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung, the Director-General of the Ministry and officials in charge attended the video conference. The Director of Communication and External Affairs from Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) introduced the forum on the first day of the forum,Thursday. Chairman of Sarawak Tourism Board and PATA CEO delivered keynote speeches. Next, the participants discussed the topics on the development of regional tourism sector.
Then, Virtual tours were shown and the first day of the forum was reviewed. The second day of the forum will be continued today on Friday. The Pacific-Asia Tourism Association was formed in 1951 to work with government and tourism members to develop tourism in the Asia-Pacific region. The organization provides support to member countries on tourism development issues, experiences and knowledge to carry out research and tourism innovation.
At present, it has members from 82 countries, 14 international airlines and 71 hospitality associations. It is made up of 75 educational organizations and thousands of young people from around the world. Myanmar has been a member of PATA since 1995 and has been actively cooperating with member countries in the development of tourism in the region.
