Lace, or dentelle in French, is a type of delicate, net-like fabric created by weaving various threads or embroidered along the edges of fabric. Lace has a broad range of applications, from tablecloths to clothing items, and holds an important place in textile history.

In 2009, Türkiye’s first lace museum opened in Kastamonu, housing nearly a thousand lace pieces. The collection includes items used as curtains, tablecloths, doilies, hats, towel edges, pillowcases, or bed sheet borders and headscarves. All pieces in the collection have been obtained through donations, including lacework over a hundred years old.
