Head, Public Health Department (Mon State), Dr. Nanda Win said "As the mosquitos are spawned rapidly in rainy season, the DHF infection rate are increased currently and there are over 700 DHF patients in our state. About 200 out of 700 patients are suffering serious illness. We stressed the medical officers from public health department and private clinics to give the proper treatments to DHF patients as soon as possible and send the patients who need emergency treatments to the hospitals which can provide better treatments. Currently, we are able to provide the sufficient medical treatments to patients. But we also need to do preparation to provide enough treatments in future as the number of patients are increasing gradually."
Although Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association, Myanmar Red cross society, Rescue teams and other relevant departments are participating in DHF prevention and control procedures effectively, public are still need to be encouraged to cooperate in prevention processes.
The officials are also trying to test the patients to figure out their DHF stereotypes to do better preventions and treatments with the help of the medical laboratories in Yangon.
