Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS”: It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts

According to the observations of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology at 13:30 hrs M.S.T Friday, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and downgraded into a Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” over Southwest Bay of Bengal (off North Tamilnadu- Puducherry coasts(India)).

It is centered at about (730) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island, (815) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (115) Nautical miles Northeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) and (125) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” is coded yellow stage. During next (24) hrs, it is likely to move North-westwards and cross North Tamilnadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) between Puducherry and Sriharikota, near Mahabalipuram around morning of 10th December 2022.
