Customs Operations : Union Minister inspects work undertakings in Yangon

Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr Kan Zaw, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Han Win Aung and officials, inspected customs operations at the Customs Department Headquarters in Yangon on Thursday.

The Director General of the Customs Department briefed on customs operations, office functions, and progress in implementing the National Single Window (NSW) system. The Union Minister stressed the importance of completing the NSW system to facilitate smooth import and export procedures, align with ASEAN and international trade systems, and prevent illegal imports.

He urged improved efficiency, staff capacity building through training, and proper use of manpower, technology, and equipment. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Yangon International Airport Air Cargo Terminal, where officials explained customs inspection procedures for imports, exports, and passenger goods.

Representatives from Yangon Aerodrome Co., Ltd (YACL) and Sky Cargo Terminal (SCT) also reported on their operations. The Union Minister coordinated necessary measures and inspected customs-related activities at the airport facilities.
