






Kachin State will hold the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition in 40 categories with 123 contestants for 3 days. The opening ceremony of the Competition will be held at the city hall in Myitkyina on Monday.
On behalf of the Kachin State Chief Minister, the State Security and Borders Affairs Minister Col. Aung Kyi Lin said that holding of Myanmar traditional cultural performing arts competitions means preserving the culture of national races.
It also showcasing the tradition and customs of ethnic culture, having friendship among new generation of artists and also gathering the culture of national brethren.
Chairman of the Leading Committee for Holding the State Level Competition, the State Ethnic Affairs Minister U Kyaw Min Khine reported on preparation for holding the state level event and arrangement for camping the first prize winners with the help of professionals.
The State Chief Minister, the Commander and senior military officers, the state ministers, the state level departmental officials and members of the sub-committees enjoyed competing of the contestants in the higher education level aged 10 to 15 dance competition (male). 123 contestants from 9 townships will participate in the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition of Kachin State.
The prizes will be awarded on 14th September and the first prize winners from the State Level Competition will be trained in the respective categories starting from 25th September with the help of professionals to participate in the central level event, according to the Leading Committee for Holding the Competition.
