COVID-19 Vaccination: Programme Continues For Basic Education Students

The Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control. Vaccination programme for basic education students aged 12 and above which started on the 12th of October continues across the country.

 It’s reported that in Myanmar, from the month of May to September, over 33,600 persons under the age of 18 were infected with COVID-19 disease and 28 of them lost their lives.

To date, over 900,000 students received the COVID-19 vaccines. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
