COVID-19 Vaccination: Programme Continues for Basic Education Students

The Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

Vaccination programme for basic education students aged 12 and above continues across the country. Till the 24th of October, 722 students in Dhakhinathiri Township, 1,348 in Paingkyon, 1,500 in Tamu, 3,690 in Mudon, 7,297 in Maungdaw, 6,063 in Mrauk-U and 2,709 in Pathein received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, the vaccination programme continues for the elders in regions and states. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
