COVID-19 Vaccination: Prevention Programme continues in regions and states

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 5th and 6th of May, residents in 12 townships of Kachin State, 13 townships of northern Shan State, 14 townships of Mon and Kayin states, 1 township of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 14 townships of Rakhine and Chin states, 1 township of Sagaing Region, 7 districts of Mandalay Region and 2 townships of Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
