COVID-19 Update: Over 647 million confirmed cases globally

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 22 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 5,852 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 20 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 633,543 with 19,488 deaths and 608,089 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, France, Germany, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:07 pm CET, 16 December 2022, there have been over 647 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.64 million deaths.
