COVID-19 Update: 893 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on October 20

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 893 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 12,853 patients within 24 hours. 28 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,109 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 490,901 with 18,444 deaths and 443,719 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Iran, Argentina and Spain, according to the World Health Organization.

Globally, as of 5:09pm CEST, 20 October 2021, there have been over 241 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 4.91 million deaths, reported to WHO.
