COVID-19 Update: 799 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on October 28

The Ministry of Health reported 799 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 18,884 lab specimens within 24 hours. 19 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,466 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 497,700 with 18,622 deaths and 463,349 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 45.36 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Islamic Republic of Iran, Argentina and Spain according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:40 p.m. Central European Summer Time on October 28th, 2021, there have been over 244.89 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 4.97 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
