COVID-19 Update: 687 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on October 24

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 687 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 14,213 patients within 24 hours.

27 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,605 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 494,263 with 18,538 deaths and 456,781 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
