COVID-19 Update: 6 new COVID-19 cases reported on May 12

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 6 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 8,506 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 11 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 613,088 with 19,434 deaths and 592,012 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Republic of Korea, Italy, Turkey, Spain and Viet Nam according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:00pm CEST, 12th May 2022, there have been over 516 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.25 million deaths.
