COVID-19 Update: 4 new COVID-19 cases reported on January 5

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 4 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 3,831 patients within 24 hours.

At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 3 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 633,700 with 19,490 deaths and 608,331 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, France, Germany, Brazil, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:33pm CET, 5 January 2023, there have been over 657 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.67 million deaths.
