COVID-19 Update: 273 new cases reported on October 20

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 273 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 12,462 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 274 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 629,926 with 19,472 deaths and 603,534 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, France, Germany, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and Russian Federation, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:21 pm CEST, 20 October 2022, there have been over 623 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.55 million deaths.
