
The Ministry of Health reported 17 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 7,774 lab specimens within 24 hours. 14 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Until May 1st, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 612,900 with 19,434 deaths and 591,826 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 30th April, 2022, over 30 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 23.47 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 7.16 million people once and over 1.45 million people have received booster dose. Therefore, over 55.56 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated, according to the press release of Ministry of Health.
