COVID-19 Update: 1003 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on October 27

The Ministry of Health reported 1003 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 20,594 lab specimens within 24 hours.

21 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,659 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 496,901 with 18,603 deaths and 461,883 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals. COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease.

Up to 26th October, 2021, a total of 12,798,322 people have been vaccinated. Of them, 6,429,059 people have been vaccinated two times and 6,369,263 people once. The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 45.25 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Islamic Republic of Iran, Argentina and Spain according to the World Health Organization.

Globally, as of 6:40 p.m. Central European Summer Time on October 27th, 2021, there have been over 244.38 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 4.96 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
