



In Myanmar, the Government and organizations have been cooperating on the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment.
Under the approval of the Ministry of Health and guidance of the Yangon Region Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Control and Emergency Response Committee, Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce (MCCOC) together with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar conducted a COVID-19 Vaccination Programme without taking any benefits.
On Sunday, at the vaccination site, Thuwunna Bhumi Event Park in Yangon, the MCCOC held the vaccination programme closing and certificates of honour presenting ceremony for the associations, organizations and persons who made efforts for the programme.
High ranking officials from the Yangon Region Government and Ministry of Health as well as many other officials attended this event in person and via videoconferencing. Under the programme, about 343,000 persons received the Sinopharm vaccine. The vaccination at the Center went with the help of well-experienced doctors and nurses from the Ministry of Health, and other medical volunteers.
It’s learnt that the Chairman of Shwe Than Lwin Company Limited (Sky Net) provided the giant site, Thuwunna Bhumi Event Park, for the vaccination programme. At the site, 6,000 people could inoculate the vaccine within a day conveniently and systematically. The Center also facilitated emergency treatment rooms.
Since early June, Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce also conducted the Vaccination Programme in regions and states by forming the Covid-19 Vaccination Steering Committee. Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce (MCCOC) also has a plan to conduct another COVID-19 Vaccination Programme in the future. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 494,263 with 18,538 deaths and 456,781 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals till the 24th of October, the Ministry of Health reported.
