COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 13th and 14th of January, residents in 13 townships in northern Shan State, 3 townships in eastern Shan State, 14 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 3 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 5 townships in Rakhine State, 7 districts in Mandalay Region and 2 townships in Bagon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, over 500 prisoners and detainees at Mandalay Central Prison received the COVID-19 vaccines. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries and associations.
