COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme continues in regions and states

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 22nd of April, monks, novices and residents in 1 township of eastern Shan State, 1 township of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 14 townships of Rakhine State and Chin State, 1 township of Sagaing Region, 4 townships of Bago Region, 1 township of Tanintharyi Region and 1 township of Ayeyawaddy Region received the COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
