COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions And States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

 On the 28th of August, residents in 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 4 townships of Rakhine State and 7 districts of Mandalay Region received the COVID-19 vaccines. Also, students in 3 townships of Rakhine State and 7 districts of Mandalay Region received the COVID-19 vaccines. On the 26th and 27th of August, those taking shelter at IDP camps in Rakhine State also received the COVID-19 vaccines shots and booster doses. Also, in Paung Township of Mon State, locals above 18 received the booster doses. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
