COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme for Basic Education Students

The Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

Vaccination programme for basic education students aged 12 and above continues across the country. Over 3,100 students in Hlaingbwe Township, 3,084 in Pakkoku Township, 1,658 in Paung Township, 8,235 in Kyaikmaraw Township, 15,334 in Pauktaw Township, over 6,200 in Thandwe Township, 938 in Haigyikyun Township and 189 in Ama Township area received the vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
