COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme and Mask Campaign

Ministry of Health is accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 2nd November, residents in Tamwe Township of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 3 townships in Rakhine and Chin States, 7 districts of Mandalay Region and TaungOo in Bago region were vaccinated COVID-19 vaccines by Tatmadaw medical corps, doctors from the People’s Hospitals, relevant medical staffs and volunteers.

Likewise, COVID-19 vaccines are administered to students from 26 townships in Ayeyawady region and 7 districts from Mandalay region on the same day. Moreover, masks campaigns are also underway in regions and states to prevent and control COVID-19.

Masks were distributed free to 44 townships in Yangon Region, Ann in Rakhine State and Kyauk Padaung township of NaungU district of Mandalay Region such as schools, roads, markets, entrance and exit of the towns and crowded places.

Moreover, COVID-19 awareness campaigns were conducted by the local Tatmadawmen, officials from Administrative Bodies, departmental staffs and volunteer organizations.
