COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme and Mask Campaign

Ministry of Health is accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 1st November, residents in Yankin and Tamwe Townships of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region and 7 districts of Mandalay Region were vaccinated COVID-19 vaccines by Tatmadaw medical corps, doctors from the People’s Hospitals, relevant medical staffs and volunteers.

Likewise, COVID-19 vaccines are administered to 280 students from 7 districts from Mandalay region on the same day.

Moreover, masks campaigns are also underway in regions and states to prevent and control COVID-19. Masks were distributed free to 44 townships in Yangon Region including schools, roads, markets, entrance and exit of the town and crowded places.

Moreover, COVID-19 awareness campaigns were conducted by the local Tatmadawmen, officials from Administrative Bodies, departmental staffs and volunteer organizations.
