COVID-19 Prevention: COVID-19 Vaccination Programme In Mindat Of Chin State

COVID-19 Vaccination Programme began in regions and states on Wednesday, 27th of January. On Thursday, 28th of January, at Mindat District General Hospital in Mindat Township of Chin State, health workers were vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease in line with the guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Sports. The 1st part of COVID-19 Vaccination Programme prioritizes health workers. This is the first dose of injection and the 2nd injection will take place 28 days later.

Superintendent, Mindat District General Hospital, Dr. Zaw Win Naing said “Here, over 370 health workers would get injection. Also, those from traditional medicine department, FDA and sports department will be vaccinated. We’ve also made preparations for other people and we’re waiting for instructions.”

Volunteers from the Mindat Township COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Emergency Response Committee will also be vaccinated. Myanmar received 1.5 million doses of COVISHIELD vaccine as a gift from India for the fight against COVID-19 outbreak. The supply of vaccines by India to Myanmar fulfills the commitment made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2020.
