Coronavirus Case: Suspected Passengers Quarantine At Waibagi Hospital

The Ministry of Health and Sports has been conducting surveillance works at international airports and entry/exit gates of the country to prevent 2019 Novel Coronavirus. On 10:45 am of 31st January, the China Southern flight B-6208 landed at Yangon International Airport, which was departed from Guaungzhuo of the People’s Republic of China.

One of the passengers onboard, a Chinese man, is suspected of 2019 Novel coronavirus with the symptoms of high temperature, coughing, running nose and sore throat and he was sent to Waibagi Specialist Hospital in Yangon. He is currently in the isolation room and quarantined as the person under investigation.

The laboratory tasks are underway whether it was a pneumonia caused by the 2019 Novel coronavirus or not. And the two Myanmar passengers from the same flight are in quarantine at Waibagi specialist hospital even though any symptoms related to the coronavirus have not been found from them.

The remaining passengers and crew members of the flight are already sent back without letting them to enter the country on 1:50 PM Myanmar Standard Time.
