A coordination meeting between the Taninthayi Region Government and regional-level departmental officials was held on April 21 at the meeting hall of the Region Government Office in Dawei.

During the meeting, Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo elaborated on the President’s instructions. He emphasized that regional development and the resumption of local economic activities depend primarily on the achievement of regional stability and peace. He urged departmental officials to carry out public service activities with genuine goodwill. He also highlighted the need for collective efforts to reopen schools that had been closed for various reasons. The Chief Minister noted that implementing MSMEs, including agriculture and livestock sectors, would lead to the construction of factories and workshops, thereby increasing local job opportunities. He pointed out that while the region produces raw materials such as rubber and palm oil, the lack of finished-product factories necessitates exporting them as raw materials. He added that setting and implementing effective regional development plans would ultimately boost the regional GDP.

Following that, members of the Region Government Ministers discussed the progress and requirements of their respective ministries. Departmental officials then presented their current activities and future work plans. The Region Chief Minister coordinated the presentations and provided necessary instructions.
