Coordination Meeting: Myanmar Plans To Donate Rice To Sri Lanka

A coordination meeting for donationg rice to Sri Lanka was held at the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday.

Leader of the Donation Supervisory Team, Deputy Minister for Commerce U Nyunt Aung said that due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, Myanmar is planning to donate 1,000 tons of rice with the state fund on a humanitarian ground.

The Deputy Minister invited the concerned ministries to present the types of rice for donation, purchasing plan, container rental, donation period and the expenses in order to facilitate the donation process. Then, officials from the relevant Ministries and the Chairman of Myanmar Rice Federation discussed plans for rice donation to Sri Lanka. In response to the reports, the Deputy Minister fulfilled the needs.
