





A coordination meeting for the successful holding of the 78th Anniversary Independence Day Ceremony in 2026 was held at the Sagaing Region Government Office meeting hall on December 29. Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw attended the meeting and delivered the opening address.
First, the Chief Minister stated that the responsible persons from the sub-committees formed and assigned duties for the successful holding of the 2026 (78th) Anniversary Independence Day Ceremony must cooperate diligently to fulfill the tasks assigned to them. He mentioned the need to review the strengths and weaknesses from previous years and strive to make this year’s event more magnificent and splendid. He also said that in organizing sports competitions and entertainment events, only sports that can be played in unity and joy by staff from various departments and urban residents should be included. He added that if there are any requirements in carrying out the tasks, they should be promptly discussed and reported to the Region Government.
Following this, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Region Minister for Social Affairs explained the formation and assignment of committees for the successful holding of the 2026 (78th) Anniversary Independence Day Ceremony and the preliminary tasks to be carried out.
Then, responsible officials from each sub-committee discussed and presented the conditions under which their respective committees would carry out their tasks.
After that, members of the Sagaing Region Government and region-level department officials who attended the meeting discussed and proposed recommendations on the tasks their respective departments would collaborate on for the successful holding of the 2026 (78th) Anniversary Independence Day Ceremony.
Afterward, the Region Chief Minister, addressing the discussions and presentations made by the attendees, coordinated necessary matters with responsible persons to supplement and integrate them, and then delivered the concluding address.
