Coordination Meeting: Meeting held in Sittwe to improve vaccination coverage

An awareness and coordination meeting to improve vaccination coverage and strengthen immunization activities in low-coverage areas was held on Saturday at the Rakhine State Public Health Department.

Rakhine State Minister for Social Affairs U Thet Tun said efforts are being intensified to ensure routine vaccinations for children under one year old and pregnant women, reduce vaccine-preventable diseases among children under five through catch-up vaccination programs, and provide special immunization programs for children under 15.

He added that school-based and community-based vaccination programs are also being implemented, with a focus on hard-to-reach and densely populated areas. Officials from the Public Health Department explained vaccination activities, and participants discussed challenges and made suggestions.
