





A coordination meeting with rectors from universities and principals from education degree colleges in Mandalay Region for the successful organization of the Mandalay University Centenary Celebration was held on August 12 at the Ministry of Education Office No. (13) Meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein delivered the opening remarks. The Union Minister first noted that the success of the Mandalay University Centenary Celebration would require the cooperation of the Ministry of Education, the Mandalay Region Government, universities, education degree colleges, and the active participation of the new generation of students. She emphasized the crucial role of local communities and alumni while also stressing the importance of valuing and giving space for the contributions of the youth.
She stated that in producing the centenary commemorative video, she wished to incorporate the perspectives of the new generation of university students and therefore encouraged organizing a video competition. She also reminded participants that the centenary is an once-in-a-lifetime event and urged everyone to work together to ensure it is celebrated in a grand, vibrant, and dignified manner.
Next, the Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint expressed his hope that tasks assigned for the centenary celebration would be completed on time and successfully as planned. Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing followed by stressing the need to carefully and thoroughly implement the remaining activities for the celebration.
Subsequently, the Director-General of the Ministry of Education, the rectors of nine universities (including the University of Culture and Arts, Mandalay), and principals presented updates on the progress of 25 planned activities for the centenary celebration. The Deputy Ministers then coordinated to supplement and finalize necessary arrangements.
