Coordination meeting: Meeting on agricultural dev. in Kachin State discussed

The work coordination meeting on the development of agricultural products under the collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the Kachin State Government was held at the Malikha Hall of the state government office in the evening on 29th April with the attendance of Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, state government ministers and responsible officials.

Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo said that The Kachin State has the favorable conditions for carrying out the agriculture and livestock breeding as well as it’s located on the border trade route and there are 774,000 acres of arable land.

As there are plenty of land resources that can be development to be farmland without environmental damages, the union ministry and the state government will collaborate for the regional food security as well as agriculture and livestock breeding in commercial scale to fulfill the market demand.

Next, the Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan discussed the requirements of necessary inputs for the agriculture and livestock breeding, techniques and skill human resources, development of agricultural producing by each and every single farmer and the implementation for the development of investment in agriculture sector of Kachin State.

Then, the director generals and state level agricultural responsible officials reported the implementations of relevant sectors and the matters for the development of agricultural products in Kachin State, it’s reported.
