Coordination Meeting: MCRD UM attended and delivered the opening remarks

A coordination meeting of the Urea Fertilizer Purchase and Distribution Steering Committee was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development Nay Pyi Taw on July 21st. The Chairman of the Steering Committee Union Minister U Hla Moe, , attended and delivered an opening address.

In his opening remarks, Union Minister stated that in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State, efforts are underway to ensure farmers can access, distribute, and utilize necessary inputs to achieve target yields. He urged the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seed and Pesticide Entrepreneurs Association to make advance arrangements for the distribution of supplies to meet the needs of respective regions.

Following this, Permanent Secretary and Secretary of the Steering Committee U Khant Zaw, explained the plans for timely distribution and sale of inputs to farmers. The Chairman of the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seed and Pesticide Entrepreneurs Association then presented the plans for providing inputs.

Subsequently, Steering Committee member Deputy Ministers supplemented and discussed necessary points.

Representatives from the Central Bank of Myanmar and various departments, who are committee members, also participated in the discussions and presented their views. Union Minister U Hla Moe then provided additional instructions on the presentations and delivered a concluding speech.

Earlier in the morning, a Waso Robe offering ceremony of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development was held at the Thiri Gandhamar Thabyay Aye Mogok Vipassanā Monastery. Union Minister U Hla Moe and his wife, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, the Permanent Secretary, Directors-General, Deputy Directors-General, and staff attended the auspicious event.

First, Union Minister and his wife, along with the attendees, took the Five Precepts from the Presiding Sayadaw of the Thiri Gandhamar Thabyay Aye Mogok Vipassanā Monastery. They then respectfully listened to the recitations of Paritta Suttas by the members of Sangha.

Subsequently, Union Minister and his wife, the Deputy Minister, the Permanent Secretary, and the Directors-General offered Waso robes and other provisions to the Presiding Sayadaw and members of Sangha. After listening to the sermon of appreciatio), they shared the merits of their donations and then offered the day meal to the members of Sangha.
