During the coordination meeting, the Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the Taunggyi Myanmar Traditional Cultural Maha Thingyan Festival and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung emphasized the need to ensure that this year's Thingyan festival aligns with traditional cultural norms and is celebrated joyfully. He noted that the Myanmar Traditional New Year Thingyan Festival has been officially recognized and inscribed by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage at the 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in December 2024. He stressed that as modern music bands will be participating, the respective committees need to systematically ensure that the attire of performing artists aligns with cultural standards etc.

Subsequently, responsible officials from the various working committees presented the measures to be undertaken by their respective committees.

Following the presentations, a general discussion took place. The State Chief Minister supplemented the discussion by suggesting the selection and proposal of a location for the central pavilion, as well as the arrangement for offering Sathuditha charity feast and the inclusion of the traditional Myanmar thanaka Thingyan.

The Minister for Ethnic Affairs then suggested prioritizing local artists for the Thingyan entertainment performances and recommended that the committees carry out necessary scrutiny.

The meeting concluded with closing remarks from the Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee for the Taunggyi Myanmar Traditional Cultural Maha Thingyan Festival and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung.
