Coordination Meeting : Discussion on successful holding of Walking Thingyan

A Coordination Meeting for successful holding of Walking Thingyan Festival was held at the office of Magwe Region government on 11th April, with the attendance of Chairman of the Organizing Committee Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister said arrangements are being made to access water from Ayeyawady river for walking Thingyan, with the use of solar pumping system, reducing fuel used. It is also necessary to undertake the security measures for safety of the people durng Thingyan period. He added that fish releasing ceremony, health care services for elders  and respect paying ceremony to the elder of aged 85-yrs and above will also be held on Myanmar New Year Day.

The Chief Minister urged all to cooperate in implementing the tasks for timely completion. Then, officials presented the status of preparation for Walking Thingyan and the Chief Minister coordinated the necessaries.
