Coordination meeting: Dept. of Environmental Conservation held meeting

The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi addressed the coordination meeting of the head office, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Regions and States held at the Department of Environmental Conservation, Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

In his address at the meeting, the Union Minister said that the harmoniously coordinated efforts for the environmental conservation works are the vital process in the implementation of sustainable development of the country. The conservation of clean environment and good ecosystem in the present time and the protection of natural environment, natural resources and biodiversities to impart to the next generations is the main responsibility of the department.

The environmental problems and challenges facing yearly due to the climate change are to be solved collectively with the collaboration of the relevant departments and organizations. For the effective collaboration for the environmental conservation, the national environmental policy, climate change policy, strategy and master plan and the national waste management strategy and master plan have been released and it’s needed to implement the relevant sectors to achieve the good results.

It’s also needed to supervise the entrepreneurs in line with the law, by-law and procedures to strictly adhere the already released EIS/ IEE / EMP plans etc. The coordination meeting was attended by the director-general, deputy director-generals, directors and the regional in-charges from the regions and states attended the meeting via virtual System.
