Cooperation in protection: Meeting on joint-protection of wildfire held

The first coordination meeting of Myanmar-China Central Level work committee for joint-protection of wildfire disaster was held at the department of environmental conservation under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 28 April with the attendance of Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Htut Oo, Dr. Thet Thet Khine, deputy ministers, security and border affairs minister of Kachin State and Shan State and members of work committee.

At the meeting, first the Chairperson, vice-chairperson (1) and (2) gave the opening remarks.

Next, the committee secretary and director-generals clarified the implementations for the protection of wildfire and work process to be carried out in the future and the arrangements for the mitigation of wildfire on the natural forest and forest plantations and the attendees participated in the coordinated discussions on the implementations and plans to be carried out for the relevant sectors.

The meeting is held with the aims of establishing joint protection mechanism from the wildfire between the two countries, boosting of cooperation between Myanmar and China to prevent and control the wildfire and the effective protection from the losses that can affect from the wildfire, it’s reported.
